What is The Alberta New Home
Warranty Program?
The Alberta New Home Warranty (ANHWP) is a truly Albertan institution founded
over 30 years ago in 1974. It was the first new home warranty program in Canada.
Builders from across the province decided to take ownership for the quality
of the homes they were building. They gave themselves quality standards and
decided to fund their own warranty program to support homebuyers.
The activities of The Alberta New Home Warranty Program are dictated by two
premises:
- A knowledgeable customer is a better customer
- A knowledgeable builder is a better builder
Today, membership in The Alberta New Home Warranty Program extends to over
700 Builder Members. In addition to the series of protections to the new homebuyers,
the Program takes a leadership role in supporting homebuyers make the right
decisions. It provides you with relevant information to help you throughout
your home building experience from purchase to possession and beyond. The Program
works with its Builder Members towards continuous improvement and strives to
be a leader and innovator in proactively addressing industry issues.
